 Esperanza listened to Abuelita tell Mama about how infuriated Tio Luis had been when he found out they were gone. He'd become obessed with finding them and questioned all of their neighbors, including Senor Rodriguez.(244p)

She soared with the anticipation of dreams she never knew she could have, of learning English, of supporting her family, of somebody buying a tiny house.(250p)
