 라이브 아카데미 토들러 일상을 영어로 말하기 시리즈입니다. 일상생활하면서 영어로는 어떻게 말하는지 평소 궁금했었던 영어표현들이 오늘 강의에 다 있어서 반가웠습니다. 날씨 얘기는 언제나 대화하기 좋은 소재입니다. 부지런하고 꾸준한 빨간 모자쌤 따라서 일상표현들을 영어로 하나씩 배워 봅니다. 

 

오늘 외울 문장입니다.

A: 오늘 비온대, 오후부터 하루종일.

B: 아, 어쩐지 어둡더라. 

    오늘 세차하려고 했는데 비 그치고 나면 해야겠다.

 

A: The forecast says it's gonna rain today, starting in the afternoon throughout the rest of the day.

B: Oh, no wonder it's so dark outside.

  I was going to get my car washed but I guess I should wait until after the rain.

1. The forecast says it's gonna rain today, starting in the afternoon throughout the rest of the day.

* The (wheather) forecast says ....

* according to the forecast... 일기예보에 따르면, 따르자면

 

* rain 동사: 비가 오다

 

* ......., + starting (언제부터) throughout (언제까지): (기간에) 걸쳐서

throught this week

throught this year

 

* the rest of the day 이날의 나머지=하루종일

* No wonder ... 어쩐지 ~더라(유용한 표현)

* I was going to ....~을 하려고 했었다

 

* get <무엇> + p.p 돈을 지불하고 받는 서비스에 대해 말할 때 자주 사용하는 문구

   get my car washed 내차를 세차장에 맡기다: 세차했어

   get my phone fixed/repaired 내 폰을 수리점에 맡기다: 내 폰 수리했어

   get my clothes dry-cleaned 내 옷을 세탁소에 맡기다: 내 옷 세탁했어

 

5. I guess I should ... ~해야 겠다

지금 당장 새로 주어진 조건이나 상황에 대해서 ~해야 겠다

 

추가:

영상에서설명하고있듯이, "starting in the afternoon throughout the rest of the day" 라고하면"오후부터하루종일"입니다.

만약"늦은오후부터(오후늦게부터) 하루종일"이라고하고싶으면"starting +late+ in the afternoon throughout the rest of the day"라고할수있습니다.
