 정확한 독해를 위해서는 접속사의 의미를 제대로 알고 있어야 합니다. 영어 공부할 때, 꼭 외워야 할 주요 접속사와 접속부사를 정리했습니다. 이미 알고 있고, 머리로 이해한 내용일지라도 입으로 자연스럽게 말할 수 있도록 예문을 통해 연습하는 시간을 가져보세요. 그냥 접속사와 접속부사의 뜻만 이해한 것으로 실제 회화 상황에서는 쓸 수 없습니다. 

 

접속사
and/ 명령문 + and	~와, 그리고,/~해라, 그러면~	Green grapes are a sweet and healthy fruit. Wake up now, and you'll catch the bus.
or/ 명령문 + or	또는, 아니면/~해라, 그렇지 않으면~	The plant usually has no stem or a very short stem. Wake up now, or you'll miss the bus.
both A and B	A 와 B 둘 다, A도 B도	Both Adam and Sarah like swimming the best.
either A or B	A 와 B 중 어느 하나	Either Adam or Sarah like swimming the best.

시간을 나타내는 접속사
as	~하면서, ~하고 있을 때	I like listening to music as I study.
as soon as	~하자마자	I'll call you as soon as I arrive.
after	~한 후에	I'm going to go to the movies after work.
before	~하기 전에	I'm going to take a shower before bed.
until	~할 때 까지	Let's just stay here until the rain stops.
when	~할 때	I'll call you when I arrive.
while	~하는 동안	While I like listening to music, I study.

 

접속부사
