We've heard we need more fiber in our diets. Here are 8 easy tips for getting there

*get moldy 곰팡이 슬다
They get moldy before I can even look at them.
I eat them up first because if I'm paying, like, six bucks for a little pint or whatever.
*moot 가치가 거의 없는, 논쟁중인, 미해결의
+) a moot point/question논란[혼동]의 여지가 있는 문제
It's moot because the vast majority of Americans get nowhere near that.
All of that can just help you get closer to your goal.
I'm not sure whether I need to be keeping track.
*dietitian 영양사
He isn't kind of a fanatic.
It's really easy to get really in the weeds pretty fast when it comes to fiber.
*in the weeds in the weeds 어려운 상황으로
That falls into that category.
Your best bet is to get fiber from a variety of plant-based foods
*phytonutrient 식물영양소
This is wild.
- It means "that's crazy" or "that's surprising
If you start really abruptly and, like, crank it up, you could get gas and bloating
*crank up - to increase (loudness, output, etc)
Just be very gradual about increasing your fiber intake.
It prevents it from hardening.
*be pumped to ~하게되서 신난다. 흥분된다
I'm kind of pumped now to go eat fiber all day.

Americans aren't eating enough fiber. According to the U.S. government's dietary guidelines, you should be eating 14 grams of fiber for every 1,000 calories you take in daily. But only around 9% of women and 3% of men in the U.S. meet the fiber recommendations.

So how do we add more fiber to our diets?

1. Focus on getting fiber from a variety of plant-based foods
2. Rethink your salads
3. Give your meals an extra boost
4. Target high-fiber foods
5. Check out the freezer aisle
6. Take baby steps
7. Keep track of how high-fiber foods affect you
8. Don't forget to drink water
