[매직문장] 17권-6 Women and Children First

계단에, 사다리에 절반쯤 올라간 표현인데, 이런 문장이 참 어려운거 같아요. 읽기는 쉬워도 입에서 나오는 건 또 다른 문제죠.
눈으로 한번 더 보고, 입으로도 중얼중얼 또 연습해 봅니다.

*creep 살금살금 움직이다, 아주 천천히 움직이다(전개되다)

-creep하면 살금살금 움직이는 이미지를 가지고 있는데 물이 계단에 차오르는 것을 creep을 이용해 표현했어요. 전치사 up이랑 만나 생생한 느낌이 더 살아나요.
예전에 전치사 to와 at 차이 말씀나눴던 것 기억나시죠.
to가 일방적으로 가는 방향이라면,
at은 콕 집어서 어디, 누구 그리고 자극을 받고 반응을 보이는 관계를 나타냅니다.

troop과 up이 만나 의미가 더 강조되죠.

그래도 눈으로 익숙해지게 보고 또 보고, 입으로도 중얼중얼 노력해 봅니다.

- 저는 이 streak이란 단어를 보면 예전에 우리 2기 회원님께서 사진과 함께 올려주신 장면이 떠올라요. 이렇게 이미지랑 같이 보면 오래오래 기억에 더 남아요. 이어서 3기 회원님께서도 이미지를 공유해 주셨어요. 이 자리를 빌어서 다시 한번 더 감사드려요.

아이들 읽는 챕터북인데도 주옥같은 문장들이 정말 많아요.
챕터북의 교과서라는 수식어가 괜히 붙은 게 아니구나 싶어요. 기억하고 싶은 문장들 밑줄 쫙~ 함께 해 보아요.
